NEW PARENT INFORMATION

All parents desire the best for their daughters—to learn the skills necessary to compete in a global market. Job’s Daughters is the place that makes this happen.Founded in 1920 in Omaha, Nebraska, by Mrs. Ethel T. Wead Mick, Job’s Daughters International® (JDI) is an organization of young women, ages 10–20, with over 10,000 members in the United States, Canada, Australia, the Philippines, and Brazil.

Daughters gain valuable leadership experience, serve as part of a team, and learn democratic principles as they run their own meetings using parliamentary procedure, decide on activities, and plan service and fundraising events. Members also have fun together at activities such as swimming parties, dances, family picnics, slumber parties, miniature golf, marching in parades and so much more. Opportunities to travel around their own country and abroad to visit other members typically result in friendships that last a lifetime.

Adults who work with members of Job’s Daughters are Certified Adult Volunteers (CAV) who have been trained and screened to ensure a safe environment and experience for all members of the organization. JDI offers scholarships every year to help members with college tuition, textbooks, and other expenses. Many members have pursued higher education at the Master’s and Doctoral levels.

Members of Job’s Daughters raise money for the Hearing Impaired Kids Endowment (HIKE) each year. HIKE gives the money to provide children with hearing aids and other equipment. Over $5 million has been raised and more than 2,400 hearing devices have been donated to children.

Fairness, honesty, respect, and patriotism are the cornerstones of our organization.Allowing your daughter the opportunity to join Job’s Daughters will open her world and allow her to learn and practice the ethical and spiritual values of the organization. She will be the role model you’ve always wanted her to be!
